What are Botox® and Xeomin®?

Botox® and Xeomin® are FDA approved neurotoxins that temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, forehead wrinkles, and crows feet. The neurotoxin contains botulinum toxin, a substance that interferes with your nerves' signals to your muscles. The result is that the affected muscles relax and can't flex while the neurotoxin is active.

Nobody can avoid the natural signs of aging.

It's a fact that as we grow older, our skin loses its firmness, giving us a tired appearance. Both men and women see thinning skin, fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, and sagging skin to be the most common signs of aging. These are because of the biological changes that make us lose collagen from the body. Collagen, being one of the most important proteins, is essential for keeping the skin’s elasticity and youthfulness. Once the collagen reserves deplete, the face begins to look aged. This can happen even when a person is still young.

During a Botox® or Xeomin® treatment, we will work with you to define your beauty goals and identify the fine lines you would like to treat. Our team will carefully place your injections so they only affect the targeted muscles and none of the nearby tissues giving you full range of facial expressions while the neurotoxin is active.

Botox® for TMJ and Bruxism

If you are suffering from TMJ, or teeth grinding and clenching (Bruxism), Botox® may be right for you.

TMJ is sensitive to stress — whether it’s physical, emotional, or even psychological stress. When you’re stressed, your muscles tense up and can cause a lot of problems for your mouth and jaw.

Excessive clenching and grinding from Bruxism can wear down and eventually crack teeth. Unfortunately, cracked teeth can develop root canal disease, often requiring root canal treatment or even extraction. It is not uncommon to also experience painful symptoms that go beyond their teeth, such as frequent headaches, migraines, jaw stiffness, and facial pain.

BOTOX® minimizes the pressure on your teeth and can also help prevent excessive tooth wear and breakage.
